02 // Vacuum Pressure Tiers

We grade our product by particle density (how many atoms remain in the box) and mean free path (how far a particle travels before it hits another — critical for Phase Flash deposition and beam transport).

TIER 4: ROUGH VACUUM

Pressure: 1 to 10−3 Torr. Atoms: ~1013 per cm³ (trillions).

Mean Free Path: Micrometers. Atoms still colliding constantly.

Use: Mechanical grip, Vapor-Lock seals, suction systems, basic insulation. Standard rotary and scroll pumps.

TIER 3: HIGH VACUUM

Pressure: 10−3 to 10−9 Torr. Atoms: ~109 per cm³ (billions).

Mean Free Path: 10 cm to 100 km. Gas stops flowing like a fluid and starts behaving like individual ballistic particles.

Use: Metallic Sciences arc remelting, crystal growth, basic Phase Flash processes. Requires turbomolecular pumps.

TIER 2: ULTRA-HIGH VACUUM

Pressure: 10−9 to 10−12 Torr. Atoms: ~105 per cm³ (hundred thousand).

Mean Free Path: Thousands of kilometers. An atom in this box will travel from London to New York before encountering another atom.

Use: Aetheric Sciences photonic processors, particle accelerators, MBE. Surfaces stay atomically clean for hours. Requires ion pumps + titanium sublimation.

TIER 1: EXTREME HIGH VACUUM

Pressure: < 10−12 Torr. Atoms: < 10,000 per cm³. Residual populations measurable by individual-molecule detection.

Mean Free Path: Exceeds tens of thousands of kilometers. Particles traverse the chamber without collision.

Use: Antimatter storage and quantum state preservation. If one hydrogen atom hits your antimatter, it annihilates. Requires cryogenic cooling + getter walls. Call for quote.
